Description
Cosmic radiation penetrates deeply into the Earth's atmosphere and produces a complex field at aviation altitudes. Although its existence at these altitudes has been known for a long time developments in air transport over recent decades have given rise to concern for aircrew and frequent travellers. Recent work by European scientists to investigate the situation will be outlined.
