The D7.7 deliverable is a summary of the final state of security components in EDG. It follows on from D7.5 (requirements) and D7.6 (security design). The content of those documents is only repeated in summary form so the three documents should be viewed as a set. The document consists of two main sections. One goes through the various components from the design document, giving a summary of the current state of development, inclusion in the 2.1 release, and the extent to which the component is actually in use in the application testbed. The second part goes through the requirement areas from D7.5 and describes the extent to which the requirements are met in the current system. There is also a table giving the status of every requirement in an appendix. The document also has a brief summary of the security integration status for each work package, some general conclusions, and finishes with some recommendations for future projects. Overall, the document gives a good overview of the current status of the security components in EDG. In general the reviewers comments were of a technical nature, and most of them have been implemented in the version sent for review by the PTB. The most substantial comments related to the fact that Requirements related to Confidentiality and Integrity, needed in particular for confidential medical files, have not been met. Some text has been added to explain why it was not possible to achieve this within EDG. There was also some question about the inclusion of some components which are not part of the EDG software release. Some text has been added to explain that these are included as they were part of the design described in D7.6. Due to time pressures the reviewers have not had time for a final round of comments before the PTB review, so it is likely that there will be some changes still needed to produce a final document, apart from any changes requested by the PTB. However, these are likely to be minor, and it should be possible to produce a finished document by December 19th.
