Transition to EGEE EGEE currently under final stages of planning – changes to TA to occur by 23rd January. Provided overview of R-GMA team under EGEE – project referred to as ‘Information Collection & Retrieval’ as defined under the ‘Middleware’ working group. Future EGEE timeline is short – need to make an early start on design work and setting up infrastructure (local CVS repository suggested). Overview of LCG - Will run with LCG 2 for all of 2004 (without support for R-GMA). Regret emphasized concerning 1-year gap before new code release. Proposed ARDA document discussed. EDG viewed as being unpopular with experiments - ARDA defined as the preferred choice. Further work expected to wrap the proto type Alien code into Grid Services – approach disliked due to time constraints. Concerns with ARDA raised – No coherent monitoring approach adopted. Workshop with ARDA and EGEE organized on the 21st-23rd Jan at CERN to further discuss concerns (to be attended by Steve Fisher and Antony Wilson). Outline of JRA1 – Security defined as a separate working group – concerns raised with this approach. Job rotation suggested – Idea to rotate roles within the R-GMA team to provide coverage during holidays and illness. Proposed Roles: ATF – Antony Wilson / Adeslem Djaoui EMT – Steve Fisher / Robin Middleton QA – Linda Cornwall / ??? Security – Linda Cornwall / ??? ITeam – Group has been removed from EGEE Agreement to continue to attend GridPP meetings with rotation scheme depending on individual work load. Seen as a good opportunity to promote R-GMA. R-GMA and LCG LCG 2 to go ahead with deadline on the 9th Feb 2004. Plan to test R-GMA on LCG 1 testbed with CMS without breaking anything else. CMS Testing Presentation brought forward ahead of schedule. Overview of Boss presented. Outline of test plan described. Discussed new ways to improve testing – Tests adopted to run with Nagios on the WP3 testbed. Outlined future testing schemes with increased load using more Monte Carlo simulators. Discussed ways to measure exact performance of tuple throughput from StreamProducer to Archiver. Further Notes James Magowen and Paul Taylor to leave the R-GMA team.
