======================================================== DT Known Issues EGEE JRA4 Face to Face meeting, Pisa, 24-25 October 2005 ======================================================== Present ------- UEDIN: Alistair Phipps (AP), Andy Jackson (AJ) CNRS: Benjamin Vial (BV) Actions arising --------------- [AJ] Add DT Savannah issues: notification message when no data is returned, line should be drawn on the graph when data with the value 0 is returned, maxresults entry should be disabled where start/end time specified, saving/loading queries should be supported, filtering of monitoring point list, specification of parameters Discussion ---------- PerfSONAR returns too much data - always the finest granularity of data available if it does not have a statistical value which matches the actual request (which never seems to happen). AP considers this to be a problem with the framework, rather than a problem with the DT. Capability information - there are a lot of gaps in the data that cannot be determined from the capability. To solve this, either fix the frameworks so they are more reliable or use more complex capability information which has a set of available times. This was discussed at a previous F2F and we decided to not use the complex capability information because it would mean having to query the results database (in whatever form) within a framework for a capability query. It may be useful in the DT to display a message when no data was returned. MaxResults - this makes no sense when start time / end time are specified, as the limited number of results should be centred around the focus (target) time. This field should be disabled when start time / end time are used. Saving/loading queries - AJ emphasised that this would have been very useful during testing. Should be added to Savannah. Filtering list - importance of this highlighted with number of monitoring points already available - and this number will likely only increase. Will be added to Savannah, though already documented in Architecture doc. Specification of parameters - known to be useful - will be added to Savannah. AKP 28/10/2005
