Minutes of the UKI Monthly TB Support 13/12/2005 http://agenda.cern.ch/fullAgenda.php?ida=a057618 Present: Peter Gronbech Ben Waugh Matt Doidge Brian Davies Stephen Burke Philippa Strange Graeme Stewart Jens Jensen Steve Traylen Mark Nelson Mona Aggarwal Simon George Olivier van der Aa Rosario Esposito Alessandra Forti Brunel (Henry, Duncan ?) Yves Coppens Morag Burgon-Lyon Benjain Ruckert === Weekly reports === Fraser, Graeme weird could not edit them do you have one go to edit them ? Alice had problems with editing On Monday 9am GMT while it should be editable up to Monday 10am GMT Steve: If problems are observed request can be send to ggus Simon could do it twice. What is the way to treat the relevancy of tests. Report is produced that goes at operation meeting on Monday (action - Steve fill the report for RAL) Pete: short time frame to correct report. The result could be affected by the time taken to fill in the report. Simon: not going to do it every week. Philippa: Multiple edit should work. === Security Challenge === Alessandra: SC started on 25 November but not all sites a the same time - good news: all tickets where closed yesterday. The challenge should have been completed for 5 days. Was extended to give the opportunity for more sites to understand how to dig the information. 95% of sites acknowledge the ticket within 1 day. most sites responded even if they did not have all information -problems: finding the ip and executables was difficult since it needed to contact rb people. Two sites did on one day (8 hours): RAL-PP, LandCaster Steve: more information directly given in the ticket would be better to get quicker feedback Alessandra: will write a report about what has happened. Site response was very good. The problem is when security contacts are wrong. --- please correct this --- GOCDB is not in sync with what is in the footprint db. Cannot edit the security contacts in the GOCDB. Ian Nelson list is not in sync. Steve: The synchronization has been very close to happen. Action for this ? Alessandra: Need to give a site contact as security contact. The CSIRT sometimes points to the university security mail that should be used as a last option in case of a serious security incident. ---------------------------- === Pre-production site === Chris: configuration scripts python xml. Should he join Steve: If join now will probably need to reinstall in january. Graeme: Offered to join pps to test FTS. They where interested to learn about the configuration which is well described as comments in the xml files. Steve: We do not know yet what the configuration method will be. Alessandra: YAIM will have a longer live than expected (not official). Olivier: Barry has installed CE, UI, MON, WMS, 5 of WN. Documentation is good and mailing list gives fast response. === throughput challenges === Wiki collect the information about the status of the throughput challenge https://wiki.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki/Service_Challenge_Transfer_Tests Objective: T1-T2 transfers of 1TB and back to the T1. Scripts are being done, they will be used to fire the data transfer. Chris will fire the transfer at 8pm. Should take until 6am. Rate is estimated to be around 200Mb/s to RAL-PP. Steve: T2-T1 transfers interesting because multiple sources to one sink. Stephen: Data will come from T2 mainly simulation data. What will be the T2-T1 rate Stephen: computing tdr need to be distilled to get this information Jens: summary https://wiki.gridpp.ac.uk/wiki/Tier_2_SC4_Milestones on the wiki seems different from what he remember. Graeme will check with the last mails from Jeremy. Local File Catalog: Graeme: Good response from sites, feedback from sites is that it is easy to install. ScotGrid: All done for LFC VO box: LHCB can be shared, good news. ATLAS may do away with VO boxes, reasonably good response. Steve: cms no deployment strategy outside of the fact that they are contacting each site to install Phedex. Alice cannot do without the VO box. === HepSYsMAn === Was a success.
