The purpose of this event is to introduce Grid computing in the context of the EGEE project, including its goals, infrastructure, middleware and operations. There is an emphasis on practicals, and so participants are asked to bring a laptop and to refer to http://egee-na4.ct.infn.it/ct_may_24/requirements.php. Please check that you have this software on your laptop. The course makes use of the Gilda training testbed, as provided by INFN/Catania and partners. Dr. Andrew Lewis and Kim Taylor (both Griffith University), Dr. Ruediger Berlich (Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe / Germany) and Dr. Mike Mineter (National e-Science Centre / Edinburgh / UK) have agreed to contribute to this course.
