The "High Performance Computing systems Laboratory" (HPCL) of the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus in conjunction with the "Greek Research and Technology Network" (GRNET) are organizing the "EGEE:
Introduction to Grids" two-day seminar in Nicosia. The seminar, held in the context of the "Enabling Grids for E-sciencE" (EGEE) project which is funded by the European Union, will take place at the University of Cyprus, on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th of March.
The seminar will include:
* Introduction to Grid systems
* Grid systems and e-Science
* Presentation of the EGEE project and the Grid initiative in Cyprus
* Presentation on the EGEE infrastructure and middleware
* Hands-on exercises for submitting jobs to the Grid
* Introduction to Grid development
* Introduction to Grid administration
The seminar is intended for researchers and members of academia of our region who would like to get hands-on experience with the services provided by the EGEE project.
