Description

The day has two sessions.

  • The first session introduces Grid Computing and e-science, the EU-funded EGEE (Enabling Grids for E-sciencE) project and associated Bulgarian Grid initiatives. This is intended to interest researchers, lecturers and system managers who would like to understand more about these developments.
  • The second session gives basic practical experience of using a Grid with the EGEE middleware. This is suited to potential users.
The course will be given by Assistant Professor Vladiimir Dimitrov from the IPP at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Dr Mike Mineter from the National e-Science Centre, Edinburgh, UK.

The language used will be English.
