There are two hostels on the CERN site – buildings 38 and 39. There is a searchable site map at http://building.web.cern.ch/building/. The hostel booking page is http://housing-service.web.cern.ch/housing-service/hostelwelc.html .
To gain entry to the CERN site you will need to show your passport and collect a pass from reception – these will be arranged for registered course participants. In order to use a laptop to connect to the network, you will need to pre-register it at CERN. For instructions on how to do this look at the page: http://it-div.web.cern.ch/it-div/gencomputing/VisitorPortables.asp .
You will need to know the MAC address of your computer to do this – see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC_address for instructions on how to find this.
