Description
Recently another round of technology review (PASTA) was completed. The information is used to estimate and to predict basic element costs for CPU server systems (processors and memory) and for storage systems based on hard disk drives. The PASTA report also covers tertiary storage and reviews the status and evolution of tape technology particularly in the context of its application at CERN. These estimates were used for a refined costing model of the LHC Computing Grid (LCG) environment at CERN for 2005-2010.
