Description
This tutorial is associated with the 20th APAN meeting in Taipei. Its purpose is to introduce the EGEE project, including its goals, infrastructure, middleware and operations. Participants are asked to bring a laptop and to refer to http://egee-na4.ct.infn.it/ct_may_24/requirements.php. This has information about software required for the practicals. Please check that you have this software on your laptop.

        Introduction to EGEE
        The Enabling Grids for E-sciencE (EGEE) project is funded by the European Commission. It is developing an international, production quality, grid infrastructure. This talk gives a brief introduction to grid computing. It then gives an overview of the EGEE project summarising its activities and status. The talk includes an overview of operations: the organisational infrastructure that maintains and supports the EGEE grid. It also describes the current application communities that are using the EGEE grid.
