A new data retrieval schema based on a XML over http protocol is proposed. It is going to replace current SOAP based MR_API. The new implemetations would be faster, more scalable, provide more max. samples per request, code independent and allow authentication. Details of the API will be presented.

After having sorted out the differences between set_partitions() and set_partitions2(), we need to converge between the Quattor 'generic' and the CERN versions of set_partitions().
