CTA Workshop locations

Shuttle Bus Service

There is a free shuttle bus service around the site in the mornings and afternoons.

It is one stop from the CERN hotel (Building 39) to Resturaunt 2 (see map above), or two stops from Building 13 (near Entrance B).

The shuttle schedule can be found here.

Hands-on Sessions

If you are coming to the Hands-on Sessions on Monday afternoon, you should bring your own laptop. We will provide virtual machines for the practical exercises, but you will need to use your own laptop to connect.

Site Access

If you are not in possession of a CERN access card, you will have to complete a form to receive a visitor badge. This will be sent as a PDF document, which you should print and show at the entrance of the CERN campus.

If you are attending other events during TechWeekStorage2024 (CS3 and EOS Workshop), we will provide your access badge for the CTA Workshop at the TechWeekStorage2024 registration desk.

Laser Pointers

Laser pointers more powerful than Class 1M have been banned in Switzerland since 2019. Checks for banned laser pointers are made at Geneva Airport and there is a very costly fine for carrying them. You are advised to leave your laser pointer at home. Compliant laser pointers are available for your use in the CERN conference rooms.
